My TPACK Journey
Here is my TPACK teacher journey. This outlines the main activities I have done to further my TPACK knowledge and become a technological learner. TPACK refers to three important areas of knowledge you need to develop for digital teaching, which include technological pedagogical and content knowledge. TPACK is the intersection of these three types of knowledge in the classroom in order to teach students properly through the use of technology. Content knowledge refers to the facts, concepts or theories around the content or subject you are teaching to your students. Pedagogical knowledge refers to planning lessons and using teaching strategies to decide on the best way to teach your students. Lastly, technological knowledge includes the knowledge of technology in order to enforce content and pedagogical knowledge. Therefore, when thinking about what TPACK is it is important to understand that the three knowledge areas interact in order to inform teaching and the use of technology alone does not make a good lesson as it has to be supported by content and pedagogical knowledge.
